The Jill Stanford Dance Center  owned and operated by Jill Stanford Reeves, offers the most diversified dance curriculum for Glynn and surrounding counties.  The school, which has been in operation for 32 years, strives to provide the best instruction in a professional and friendly atmosphere. With studios located in Brunswick and on St. Simons Island, the Dance Center offers a wide variety of classes in all disciplines of dance.  Classes are offered in  ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop. Adult classes are also available. Jill Stanford Reeves  owner/director brings over 30 years of dance experience to the school.  She is an outstanding, gifted teacher and a tap technician beyond words.  Since 1980 she has been the successful owner and director of one of  Brunswick's largest schools.  She is well-known for her children's work and her love and understanding to make dance fun for each and every student, while developing them to their fullest potential.  Mrs. Reeves has been guest artist for various seminars throughout the southeast and her professional ability has been recognized by leading artists in the dance world.  She is the founder of Southern Dance Theatre, which annually performs "The Nutcracker Ballet" and "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas". Mrs. Reeves has studied with Phil Black, choreographer for many Broadway musicals, motion pictures and television, Frank Hatchett, David Howard, and many more professionals in the dance world.  She has also studied with The Joffrey Ballet, The Harkness School, Steps, and the Broadway Dance Center.  Mrs. Reeves continuously travels to study with professionals so she can provide her students with "cutting edge" choreography.  She holds a Masters Degree in Classical Ballet and Musical Theatre Arts from Dance Educators of America School in New York City. 

Tracy Burgstiner has been dancing at the Jill Stanford Dance Center since she was two years old. During her childhood, Tracy was part of the award-winning Stanford Style Dance Company.  As part of this group, she was chosen from hundreds of dancers to dance at the Macy's 1990 Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City representing the All American Dance and Cheer Association. In 1992, she was chosen to participate in the half-time show in the Aloha Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Tracy was also chosen to be a Caravan Kid.  After graduating from Brunswick High School in 1997, she traveled to New York City to train with Dance Educators of America and received her teaching degree in 1999.  Over the past 15 years, Tracy has taught a variety of classes and hundreds of students at Jill Stanford Dance Center. Tracy's hard work and dedication to her students has led to many awards and recognitions at the regional and national level.  Her dances have won many overall awards, best choreography, and most entertaining.

Cori Jernigan

Cori began her dance career at the age of  2 with Mrs. Jill as her teacher. During the 16 years that Cori danced with Mrs. Jill, she was a member of the competition team that won many awards. She also danced leading roles in the Nutcracker Ballet for Southern Dance Theatre. She has performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and in the Aloha Bowl in Hawaii. She has won many talent scholarships throughout her career as a dancer.  Cori was the talent winner at the Junior Miss competition for the state. 
Upon graduation from Brunswick High in 1999, she was selected as the recipient of The Arts and Humanities Scholarship, awarded by the
  Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association. Cori graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also a graduate of Dance Educators of America Training School for teachers in NYC, and she is certified to teach Ballet and Musical Theatre Arts.

Brittany Douglas

Brittany began her dance training at the Jill Stanford Dance Centerat the age of 3.  She has won many honors over the years while studying at JSDC.  She has traveled extensively, studying with the best in the business.  In 2005, she traveled as a dance assistant with Dance Caravan's faculty throughout the United States.  Brittany has danced leading roles in Southern Dance Theatre's Holiday Classic "The Nutcracker Ballet."  Upon graduation, Brittany completed the assistant teacher program at the Jill Stanford Dance Center.  Her love for children has always been evident when teaching dance.  Her knowledge and passion for classical Ballet has led her to a teaching career. Brittany received her teaching certificate in 2009 in Ballet and Musical Theatre Arts from Dance Educators of America in New York.

Sarah Salter

Sarah began her dance training at JSDC at the early age of  2. She has traveled and studied with top professionals across the U.S. She has received numerous dance scholarships and awards from leading schools. Over the years,  Sarah danced as a principle dancer for Southern Dance Theatre . In 2005, she toured the United States as a  Dance Caravan Kid to assist teachers who are professionals in the dance world.  Sarah has been on the JSDC staff  for 4 years.  Her cutting edge choreography has been recognized by the best in the business.  Her classes are always packed with energy and passion.  Sarah is certified to teach from Dance Educators of America in NYC.

Rebekah Acosta

Rebekah started dancing at 2 at the Jill Stanford Dance Center.  Her passion and love for dance has lead her to great opportunities in the dance world. Rebekah has won scholarships to top schools in  the U.S. She was also chosen among hundreds to travel and assist with the Dance Caravan Kids Program in 2005.  Rebekah has worked side by side with leading dance professionals and continues to travel and study with top choreographers. Her passion for tap is well received by all of her students. Rebekah is a graduate from the Dance Educators of America teacher training program in NYC and is certified to teach all ages and levels of dance.

 

 

Val  Salnikov

Originally from Russia, Val has lived in the United States for the past 17 years and has taught and directed throughout the United States and Russia. In Russia he danced with the world famous Kirov Ballet.  His tenure included rolls in many productions in the Russian ballet circle, including parts in the Nutcracker, Le Corsair, Three Musketeers, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.  Val moved to the United States in 1994 and gained his US citizenship shortly after.  He has taught and performed with The Ballet Theartre of Florida, The Augusta Ballet, Lynchburg City Ballet and he formed the Biloxie City Ballet in Mississippi.

 

 

Carlton Dawson

Carlton Dawson, also known by his stage name  “Tajonyx(tahj-on), is a 23 years old,aspiring recording artist and hip hop choreographer originally from Columbus Ga. Carlton has been singing and dancing since the age of 6. He has had  10 years of professional vocal training in classical music, as well as in  musical theater. Carlton has been involved in community theater since the age of nine, and started dancing in dance crews at the age of 12.  Music is Carlton’s passion, but performance is also. He has loved being a performer in every aspect since as long as He could remember. His skills in dance are as equally as developed as his singing skills. Carlton graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education.  Carlton is also a gifted songwriter.
